Glossybox Switzerland September

After a very long announcement time (about 2-3 months) there is also a Glossybox available in Switzerland.

There was a special offer for just ordering one single box, so I was very tempted... and of course I ordered a box end of August.

Today - "only" 18 days later the box arrived.

And I'm slightly disappointed with the products. For CHF 21.- and for the very first box I would have expected something more special.

So what was inside?

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer
It's a very good one, although I prefer moisturizer with SPF. You can get that sample size in every Kiehl's store for free if you ask nicely.

Lancome Genifique
I'll test it definitely. I don't get a lot of sleep at the moment.

L'Oreal Paris Color Riche nail polish
nice color in teal, good for autumn. But psssst, Glossybox, L'Oreal is not a luxury brand ;-)


Maria Galland Gloss
The gloss is more a balm and feels very comfortable on the lips, but I don't like the color. It looks very bright red but on the lips it's only just slightly red... more rosy... nothing I would use for my daily look since I prefer either nude lips or statement lips. Nothing between.

Paul Mitchell Shampoo
Interesting. Smells good. I'll test it.

Conclusion
It's so nice when you get a monthly surprise box. I love the idea and the concept but I think the box in Switzerland is way too expensive. In other EU countries it's cheaper. In France it's only EUR 10.- / CHF 12.-!!!
I'm a real cosmetic freak and therefor I had somehow higher expectations. Instead of two face care products (moisturizer and serum) an eye shadow would have been great. Or any other make-up thing, but there are 4 care products and just only 1 decorative product (the nail polish). I often get care products at the counter of the brands in the mall. So that's nothing I would pay for it.
And the delivery time (18 days!) is way too long.
I don't think that I'll order a second box for this price. Only 1 pencil for idea and nice packaging.

Ombre Nails with Sheer Nail Polish by American Apparel

American Apparel brought out a new limited edition just for summer: Sheer Nail Polish

Because of the sheer color you can receive an ombre look on your nails.

Unfortunately it's already sold out on the European site but you might have luck in one of their shops. Price is EUR 6.-

I really like the green-blue combination and the red-purple one. (Although there is no purple nail polish, so it might be Moonlight Beach mixed with Manhattan Beach, red + blue = purple)

LOTD Chocolate Bronze Tom Ford Illicit

Suddenly summer again and I'm almost well.

So I'm ready for some summer bronzy chocolate look.

Caviar Manicure

Nail polish reaches a new dimension now. With Caviar Manicure from Ciaté nail polish is now 3D.

Mini-beads are spread and pressed into the not yet dried under polish. The beads are made of glass.

I'd love to test this, since I really like black nail polish with a little extra. (e.g. see here my black french manicure)

It's also available in other colors: Red/Wine/Blue and Mother of Pearl (white).

The colored mix reminds me of sugar beads, but with washing your hands it won't last long. Otherwise putting glass beads around your lips, might not be healthy.
I guess those are only pics for ads and it's only meant for the nails. For lips I would recommend to use colored sugar.

Armani Rouge d'Armani Sheers, Eyes to Kill Excess

Hope you all had a great weekend!

I got a voucher from Armani last week: "get the must-haves for summer" (for free).

So I went to Jelmoli, where the new Armani counter is, and got my present:

It was a toilet bag, made of black velvet, filled with 3 little gifts:

and a serum for mature skin.

Since my skin isn't really mature at all, I haven't tested it and so I won't go into details.

The colors are very bright, so perfect for summer. Armani says it has the translucency of a gloss - true - but to be honest, the most lipsticks can have this translucency. They also say it has the comfort of a balm, which is true. It really feels like a lip balm for hours, it's very hydrating. Therefor it doesn't stays long on your lips. After a few drinks or after a meal the color is gone. But that's normal to most lipsticks or balms.

It reminds me of Revlon's Colorburst Lip Butter.

Armani Eyes to Kill Excess Mascara

It promises instant volume and the deepest black. I'm happy that I got a mini-size because I really like the mascara!

You can build up volume very quickly, it dries also very fast and the black is really deep with a little lacquer-shiny finish.

The mascara smells also very good - it has not the typical chemical smell.

Small bumbler, that I always have because of my long lashes, can be easily removed with a cotton bud without removing the eyeshadow.

And it does not crumble during the day which is important for me because I'm using lenses.

It would be great if other companies could do such samples more often. Have you heard of Glossy Box? It's box with the newest cosmetics and beauty samples sent home once a month.

It's already available in 18 countries, but still not in Switzerland. Maybe because of the price...? While in Austria the box costs EUR 14.- per month, in Germany EUR 15.- p.m., in France EUR 10.- ... in Switzerland I read it should be CHF 25.- that's about EUR 20.- a month! Quite expensive, huh?

Guerlain Terracotta La Sélection de l'été

It's not good to have too much time at the airport. This means spending too much time at the duty-free-store. But this little precious is my best bargain buy for this summer.

It comes in a very soft and elegant velvet package with a flat brush and a mini-sponge.
Sad to say, that you can not really use both of the accessories, but anyway...

On the first level there's a matte light bronzer and a matte darker one for perfect contouring.

The powder really smells so good and has the typical Guerlain perfume. The shades are perfect for my fair skin.

And on the second floor there are 4 eye shadows in wonderful summer(night) colors.

1st row: dark-olive-green shimmer, golden-bronze shimmer
2nd row: brown-golden shimmer, beige/nude velvet shadow

Isn't that 2-in-1-wonder perfect for summer? For traveling? For holidays?

Haha! I just read on the back of the product it's a "Face Powder". Well anyway, for me and my fair skin it's a perfect bronzer. So if you are already tanned, you can use it as a face powder and the darker shade for contouring.

I took me a long time to order from Lime Crime because I don't like ordering without testing on my own skin. But so many reviews (here, here or here) showed that the red eye shadow must be really great.

And a really good red is seldom for eye shadows!

I have to say it's a very lovely packing.
I know... it's just the packing, but I love it. It's really wrapped like a gift.

And I got a small eye primer for free!

The lipsticks are great, although they are really strong opaque and your natural lip color won't come through, they are not drying out your lips. I'm looking forward to do some cool make-up but for today I'm too tired. Good Night, Bellas!
