It's a bitter, high spirit drink with a lot of herbs, fennel and anis. Because of it's green color it's also called the green fairy or green muse.
Many artists and poets drank it in the 19th century, like Charles Baudelaire, Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh, Ernest Hemingway, Edgar Allan Poe, Arthur Rimbaud, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Brian Warner, Oscar Wilde more or less for inspiration ;-)
Then it was forbidden a long time and since 1998 it's allowed again in many European countries.
Today I did this look inspired by Absinthe. But of course I was just only inspired by the color!
TGIF!!! Santé!
